Zendesk has acquired Unleash, an AI-powered enterprise search platform. The acquisition aims to integrate Unleash’s retrieval technology into Zendesk’s employee service workflows, allowing for centralised access to data across disparate company systems.
The integration focuses on three core functional areas:
- Data Connectivity: Access to 70+ content sources, including Google Drive, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Deployment: Native AI agents for Slack and Microsoft Teams that include automated escalation to human agents.
- Security: A permission-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system that applies existing company data access policies at the time of query.
By connecting search to case management and analytics, Zendesk intends to automate routine internal inquiries and centralise organisational knowledge within a secured framework.
