Squiz Introduces enterprise-grade conversational search for enhanced website experiences

Squiz, a global Digital Experience Platform (DXP) provider, has launched Squiz Conversational Search. This new feature enables enterprise websites to provide fast, accurate, AI-powered answers. Moving beyond traditional search result pages, it offers an interactive, chat-like experience where answers are sourced exclusively from an organisation’s verified content.

This initiative responds to the growing use of generative AI. A survey by Google and IPSOS revealed that nearly 49% of Australians have used the technology in the past year. Squiz Conversational Search allows organisations to meet this demand while maintaining full control over content and compliance.

The feature is available globally as part of the Squiz DXP and is powered by Squiz Funnelback, the platform’s enterprise-grade search engine. This transforms user engagement by providing a direct and intuitive conversational experience.”This is about helping organisations meet users where they are. People don’t want to dig through menus or search result pages anymore, they want to ask questions and get clear answers, fast,” said John-Paul Syriatowicz, Founder of Squiz. “Squiz Conversational Search gives our customers a safe, smart way to embrace generative AI on their own terms, without giving up control of their content or user journeys.”

Understanding conversational search

Conversational search is a type of search functionality that uses AI to understand natural language questions and provide direct, conversational answers, rather than a list of links. It mimics a human-like interaction, allowing users to ask questions in a natural way and receive a precise response, similar to engaging with a chatbot.”Unlike generic AI chat tools, this is a product built for enterprise-grade accuracy and governance,” said Greg Sherwood, Chief Technology Officer at Squiz. “Because it’s powered by Squiz Funnelback, organizations define the exact collection of content responses are to be drawn from and can continuously monitor and improve accuracy.”

What sets Squiz Conversational Search apart is its use of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture. This system grounds the generative AI in verified source content. The Squiz Funnelback engine retrieves relevant documents from a defined content set, and a dual-agent model cross-checks and validates the answers before they are presented to the user. This process ensures that outputs are both accurate and derived from content that the organization controls, prioritizing enterprise-grade accuracy and governance.

Squiz also offers a consulting framework to assist customers in preparing their content for AI, defining specific use cases, and implementing conversational search strategically and securely.
